About
I recently completed research on censorship and the dynamics of political and institutional decisions in Iowa libraries during World War I. I also wrapped up my Center for the Book final project based on Gervase Markham's "The English Housewife," which included both historical research and modernized versions of Markham's recipes.
My interests and experience lie in Iowa and library history as well as Open Access student publication. I also have interests in book and print history and culture, social media, blogging, digital humanities and related areas. I am very interested in LIS pedagogy, and am hoping to explore all of these interests more as I go through my PhD program! My other interests outside LIS include food history and psychology.
I served as Editor for B Sides, the peer-reviewed online journal for the School of Library and Information Science at the University of Iowa, and I currently serve on the Editorial Review Board of Library Student Journal.
