Debra is a PhD candidate in the Classics Department at Florida State University, studying under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Pullen. Her PhD dissertation is focused on the importance of cooking vessels in the Bronze Age Greek mainland, paying particular attention to petrographic and chemical analysis.

Debra is currently a regular member at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens and is the Lockhart Fellow.

Debra has served as a team member for SHARP (the Saronic Harbors Archaeological Research Project) and a trench supervisor and museum assistant for excavations at the Petsas House at Mycenae for several years.
