About
Art Raney (Ph.D., University of Alabama, 1998) is a professor in the School of Communication at Florida State University (USA). His research centers on entertainment theory and media psychology. Specifically, he examines the enjoyment of various media contents such as drama, sports, and digital games, as well as the role that various factors such as moral judgment and cognitive schema play in the enjoyment of media entertainment. His writings have been published in various entertainment-centered anthologies, as well as scholarly journals including Journal of Communication, Media Psychology, Communication Theory, and Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media. He also co-edited with Jennings Bryant the Handbook of Sports and Media (Lawrence Erlbaum Associates, 2006).
